In this assignment I had to make a subject in motion sharp, and the background blurry. This was accomplished by panning the camera at the same speed as the subject. Creating a blur in the background, but keeping the subject nice and sharp.

For this assignment I chose to do People. When I was taking photos I had to pay attention to the White Balance, and I had to pay attention to the lighting. These where talked about in the previous Portrait assignment. Best PhotoEditing: I upped the clarity and the exposure using the camera raw filter. 9 Other PhotosFor this assignment I chose the subject of animals. This proved to be surprisingly difficult to do because they would not sit still, and when they do they attack the camera. In order to take my photos I had to "tail" my cat, JoJo, for around two hours. Then I had to take each photo before he scratched the camera lens. Best Photo:Editing: I cut the photo into two layers; Cat and pillow. I then made the Pillow low clarity, and slightly bumped the clarity on the cat. I raised the overall exposure, highlights, and shadows. 9 Other Good Photos:For my fourth photo assignment I chose to do Black & White. For B&W I had to edit the photo and make it black and white. When I sat down to import and edit my photos I realized that I forgot to format my camera's memory when i left to take photos. As a result I thought I had taken 75 photos for this subject, when in reality i had taken 20 photos. Luckily I was doing B&W, so I could use some of my old, unused photos and use them for black and white. Best Photo:Editing: I used Camera raw filter to make it B&W, to darken the shadows, and Bump up the highlights. 9 Other Good Photos:For my third photo assignment I chose to do light painting. Light painting is when you go into a dark area, set the camera to a high shutter speed and to a low ISO. During the photo you move around lights to "paint" in the darkness. When I took my best photo, the flashlight that I was using as a makeshift lightbulb fell off of the Rainbow Disco Ball as I moved the ball, this combined with me quickly taping the flashlight back on created the photo you see below. Best Photo9 Other Good PhotosFor the second subject I chose to do nature/landscape. In order to comply to the criteria I had to take photos that "says something about nature and the landscapes we live in." I found my photo subjects by walking around saline. When I initially left my house, on foot, to go shooting it was 9:00am I returned home at 4:00pm. I took no breaks, I walked continuously for 7 hours. The next day I could barely stand. Best Photo.Editing: I created two files, one with very low clarity, and one with high clarity with upped vibrance. I then edited out the flower from the low clarity photo and placed the high clarity flower in it's place. 9 Other Good Photos. For this subject, Macro, I had to switch my camera into Macro Focus by hitting the flower button whilst in manual mode. I then had to take closeups of my photo subjects. I found my subjects by walking around my neighborhood and taking shots of interesting things that caught my eye. Whilst I was taking my best photo (shown below) I was side tackled by a random dog, luckily I got the shot and the camera was unharmed. The rest of the photos where taken uneventfully. Overall I had a fun time and i took some good pictures. Best Photo:9 Other Good Shots:For the Composition Assignment I had to learn the 11 rules of photo composition, and take photo examples of them. During this assignment I learned 4 new rules of composition, space, color, balance, and framing, the other 7 I knew beforehand. I learned to notice good shots in the wild. |
